Awards
CAF has been giving awards for service to the field, for scholarship and other achievements that have advanced the field since 1979. The award, recently renamed the Ostracon Award (named after shards used in Ancient Greece as ceramic “post-its” for making notes or as ballots for votes, etc.) has been given at every symposium (except in 1986).
The Ostracon Award will be awarded now every two years to a single individual for exceptional writing in the field, beginning in 2007.
